For this assignment, each student is will prepare a report and presentation on a sustainable practice that has been traditionally performed in his or her hometown: Country: “Nepal” City: “Kathmandu”
Our Traditional technique and practices, while being the most adopted and compatible Life-style, maybe not be the most technologically advanced but, definitely, the most sustainable method. The roots for this success have always been deeply associated with recognition, understanding and respect to “Mother of Nature”.
Unfortunately, in Modern Life-Style, we have over-looked, ignored and even forgot the values that we have had grown-up with. This assignment is aiming to identify and recognise the fundamental aspect of “sustainable practice”, including environmental, economic and social/cultural practices.
Note: this is an individual assignment.
This project will include a writing component. The work should introduce your area (country, region, or city), materials, components or systems, and evidence of sustainable values and approaches to your audience.
Sustainability and sustainable practices could impact your life-style from social/cultural aspect and it is not necessarily embedded in building science or advanced technology. Some practices could be adopted, even with very primitive and basic method.
Your report presentation a written report summarizing the ideas and concepts of the chosen green topic. The purpose of the report is to provide students with an opportunity to research an issue, develop and awareness of the issue or building science or technology, and understand how it could impact their live here in Canada. Completing the report provides the students with an opportunity to improve his/her research and writing skills.
