The origin of Christadelphian religious groups was traced to John Thomas (1805-1871), and he was immigrated to North America from England in 1832. He vowed to find out the truth related to life and also about god through personal biblical study. At first stage he tried to avoid the kind of sectarianism he saw in England. At that time he found sympathy related to restoration movement in the US, and this movement was based on the Bible as sufficient guide and it also rejected all creeds. However, because of this resolution John Thomas dissent his personal beliefs and start questions mainstream orthodox Christian beliefs. As per the beliefs stated by Thomas God’s word does not support multiple beliefs and he also challenged the leaders to continue the process of restoring Christian beliefs of 1st Century and also their correct interpretation.
The Christadelphians are considered as small religious group of people who follow the faith and beliefs of the Christians of 1st century and these beliefs are recorded in the Bible. As per their belief Bible is considered as inspired word of God and they also consider Bible as their only guide. Christeldians are in existence for over 150 years, and the name of Christeldians generated from two Greek words that means brothers and sisters in Christ. Christeldians are located in number of Countries in the world such as United Kingdom, North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, South-East Asia and Africa. Similarly like early Christians they meet in homes, rented rooms, and their own halls.
Each congregation is known as ecclesia. They do not have paid clergy or church hierarchy. Members of each congregation are considers as brothers and sisters, and they all are involved in their organizing the ecclesia activities. As per their belief there is only one eternal and immortal god (Wamuran Christadelphians, n.d.).
The main aim of this community is to provide opportunity to the members of their community opportunity to participate in humanitarian activities, and for this they introduce Bethézer projects which aim to provide opportunity to the members of Christadelphians Community not only to contribute in financial terms to the humanitarian activities but also provide opportunity to get involved in actual projects themselves. This can be understood through example, such Tanna School Project’ in Vanuatu has been built, designed, and funded by Christadelphians. This building involves wide range of people who have different skills from Christadelphians community (Wamuran Christadelphians, n.d.).
