OPIM 321 Supply Chain Management

LO 1. Appraise the linkage between theoretical concepts and real life supply chain management practice
LO 2. Apply supply chain management theory, concepts and analytical tools to analyze case studies of sufficient complexity to require judgment and synthesis.
LO 3. Critically evaluate current research and advanced scholarship in a specified area of supply chain management leading to a demonstration of independent learning and an advancement of individual knowledge in the area,
LO 4. Critically appraise how SCM and supplier development can contribute to improvement in business performance and competitive advantage including the drivers for change.
LO 5. Assess and evaluate advanced concepts and future trends in SCM.

You are to submit an individual report based on a company of your choice, identifying three supply chain management issues and analysing their impact on the company’s business performance and competitive advantage including the drivers for change one of the issues must be related to supplier management/development. Your report should critically evaluate current research and advanced scholarship in the three SCM areas you have selected. You should also assess and evaluate advanced concepts and future trends that could impact the three SCM issues which you have selected. The report should consist of the following main sections:
• Introduction
• Discussion & Analysis
• Recommendation, if any
• Conclusion
• References

1.The report, of not more than 2,000 words (excluding introduction, conclusion and referencing list) should be typewritten in Times New Roman, font size 12 and double-spaced with page numbers.
2. To pass this module you must achieve a module mark of at least 40%.
3. Each assignment will be assessed against the attached grading rubrics.
4. Similarity should not be more than 15% excluding referencing list and quote. Penalty for similarity % would be based on PSB’s terms and condition.
