Coursework Question
Oregano has just completed the purchase of Basil Cottage situated in the middle of rural countryside from Parsley. On entering the cottage they were upset to discover that the freestanding hot tub other than plumbing for the water and electricity has been removed. The hot tub was in a room with large glass windows on two sides and bifold doors opening onto the garden. The glass roof windows can be opened by the press of a button. There are hooks to hang dressing gowns and towels, underfloor heating and a storage unit for drinks and nibbles. The hot tub was freestanding other than plumbing for the water and electricity.
A week after completing on Basil Cottage, Oregano attended their child’s school sports day. The sports day was held on the small field attached to the school. While waiting for their child to run in the 100 metre race, they had a walk around the grounds and found a modern engagement ring on grass of the sports field. They handed the ring to Dill, the head teacher and said if the owner could not be found they would like to keep the ring. Emails were sent out to all staff and parents; a notice was placed in the staff and general school notice boards and local paper. After six months no one has come forward to claim the ring. Oregano has now discovered that Dill intends to sell the ring for £5000 and use the money to refurbish the staff room. The school grounds are usually locked after the end of school and during school holidays but occasionally they are left open.
Oregano is very upset to discover that the fields at the back of Basil Cottage have been sold to Mint Exploration Company. They have heard rumours in the local village that they have permission to look for oil under the fields and surrounding properties.
Advise on the following:-
Can Oregano force Parsley to return the hot tub?
Can Oregano demand the return of the ring from Dill?
Can Oregano prevent Mint Exploration Company from looking for oil under their land?
