CAD117 Effective Communication For Dementia Care Essay.

The presentation regarding the importance of communication among dementia patients has enhanced my knowledge in several fields. During the preparation process for the presentation, I learned about the care giving structure for the dementia patients in details, which has also enhanced my knowledge. While working on this presentation, I got to interact with several health care professionals and caregivers of NGOs, who provides care to the dementia patients on a daily basis. During the interaction procedures, I felt emotional towards the dementia patients who are suffering from various health related problems as well as language degradation, which is a basic need in daily life (1). In terms of challenges, I faced difficulties while trying to interact with some of the patients, because of the permission issue. The caregivers were also not interested in disclosing the procedures, by which they provide care to the patients. However, after providing my presentation I feel that my performance was good, which could have been better. I want to work on my communication skills, which are beneficial in terms of providing a fluent presentation in front of others (2). In terms of future, I want to work in this field, because it has increased my interest; therefore, I would like to get appropriate training regarding the skills and knowledge that I lack.
