As a slave Douglass learned how to read and write, decided he had to escape the South and became one of the great voices against slavery in the North.Douglass gave a speech ‘What to the Slave Is the Fourth of July? ’It is considered to be one of Douglass most powerful speeches. Analyze the speech. How does Douglass use logos, pathos and ethos? Did he include any fallacies? Why do you think it is considered to be an important speech?
