Types of Waste in the Construction Industry

Much industrial research carried out shows that they are numerous activities in the construction industries, which are adding no value to them during the process of erection. For example in construction, it may involve the movement of construction materials from the extraction sites to the construction site. The overall lead time is reduced as a result of reducing or eliminating the type of waste mentioned above (Hartman, 2015, p. 213).

  • Product shipment from one functional factory to another.

As per the lean principles, there is a need for changing the layout, generate value streams and make that value flow at the pull of the customer. The introduction of lean concept helps in prevention of errors numerous ways;
