Written research proposal that is based on the literature review and demonstrates their understanding of business research/research paradigm.
Based on their literature review, students are required to write a business research proposal outlining the details of the proposed research project that addresses the gaps identified in the literature. Derived from the business topic, the proposal needs to include clearly state research questions (primary and secondary), and provide a solid research methodology that supports the feasibility of the research project.
The usage of internet with the help of third-party software and hardware to develop a network that can be used by an individual to store, manage and process data so that it can be accessed from any location using any device. It offers mobility to the information and data (Sun et al. 2014).
R1. What are the contemporary changes in cloud computing since its evolution?
R2. What is the acceptance rate of the service cloud computing provides among the common people of Australia? How reliable people think cloud computing services are regarding security and back up?
R3. What are the other models used in cloud computing apart from the IaaS, SaaS and PaaS models?
R2.1. what are the changes recommended and the scope of improvement?
Cloud computing is a comparatively new technology and rigorous research, innovation and development is being taken place by scholars to improve and simplify the process for mass usage and hence it is important to analyze these changes and finding out the progress in this field and indentifying the companies that are investing in cloud computing (Ibm.com 2015).
In case of any emerging and cutting edge technology the biggest problem is with the lack of knowledge among the common people. Hence it is important to understand the rate of acceptance and usage of the technology by common people who are basically the end users of the service that this technology is offering. Technologies often have to break the barrier of thinking and penetrate the mindset of the people who are using it. The reliability of the service will only grow among people after usage and a brief understanding about the technology itself.
Since there are three most commonly used cloud computing models that are known to be used, the others are more contemporary and common people have less understanding, therefore it is important to understand these models and indentify the facilities that it offers along with the challenges that it faces (Ibm.com 2015).
There is a lot of scope in the technology and a lot of area to grow, business organizations are accepting the importance of the service and are incorporating it in the daily operations of the business, as the service offers flexibility and ease in the usage in terms of location and application.
The aim and objective of this research is to indentify, determine and analyse the factors impacting advantages that cloud computing have as well as the challenges the service have to face along with the disadvantages that are associated with the service. The following are the objectives of the study
- To identify the advantage of cloud computing and the factors that are responsible for the development and growth of the service.
- To analyse the factors in detail to measure the challenges that are faced by the cloud computing service
- To understand the process popularity of the service among the end users of Australia
- To suggest a suitable actionable plan that can help in innovating the technology by focusing on the disadvantages and challenges faced cloud computing.
Research Questions and Hypotheses
It is used to set up, install and utilize remote, third-party servers as annexure to a company's local information and communication network. Cloud computing also helps in the utilization of software applications that are programmed to be operated in the could computing server, or improve and remotely host flexible service operated applications. One of the most important and popular usage of cloud computing is the information and data storage, an individual can not only view can also manage, alter and provide backup or archive the data across the internet platform to a provider. This service is regardless of the physical location of the data, it can be accessed from any place where there is internet access (Pearson 2013).
Cloud computing service providers are sometimes free and are sometimes a paid service. Some of the most common contemporary examples of popular Amazon EC2 is an example of virtual information technology, Google App Engine is a software hosting model of cloud computing, Google Apps and Microsoft Office Online are some of the software as a service model examples and lastly is Apple iCloud, Google drive etc which is owned by Apple Inc to provide apple users data backup and network storage (Kavis 2014).
In the coming years the popularity of cloud computing is expected to gain popularity among the common people. Given the usage and the simplification of the service the lack of awareness is one significant hindrance that is in between the popularity of the service. Combating the traditional view about cloud computing being a façade than offering real and practical value the service has come a long way. Information technology giants like Amazon and Google have accepted the importance of the service and have invested in supporting the idea of cloud computing.
Flexibility and mobility in the services provided by cloud computing is the fundamental on which it runs. With the advent of new and improved technology in mobile devices like smart phones and tablets has a significant impact on the cloud servicing business. This is the reason why the service is gaining more popularity.
Social media is all the rage in the current scenario and to improve communication and collaboration micro-blogging and chatting is being powered by cloud-based application. Cloud based communication in the social media sphere aids to real tie communication as well which has enabled quick and easy feedback in the communication process (Ibm.com 2015).
The research is the procedure of organising and conducting a research by concentrating on the aims and objective of the research following the research questions. For the purpose of primary research a survey will be conducted and interview will be organised. In order to gain information from secondary source, news paper articles, journal articles and books related to the subjects will be studied. The suitable techniques have been opted on the basis of the research questions that have been stated above. The process will be both analytical and theme based as both primary and secondary research will be performed to achieve a concrete and suitable conclusion and offer suitable recommendation (Mackey and Gass 2015).
Research Methodology
It is one of the most important aspects in research design as it helps to collect data from the right source and at the right time. It is the devices, tools, applications and ways that are used to get information and data that is to be analyzed. In this case, a thorough secondary research is and literature review is done to understand the concept of cloud computing and developing an understanding of the mechanism of the services. The secondary data is going to serve as a medium to form the fundamentals of the primary research. The theories that are analyzed in the literature review conforms the selected path of the research. Primary data are composed and complied directly from the respondents, which indicate that the research is more valid and reliable towards the readers. For primary research to identify the general understanding and acceptance of cloud computing survey will be conducted among the people who use mobile devices. To understand the new research and development in the service companies that already offer could computing will be contacted to answer questioner and to give an insight about the reliability of the service (Flick 2015).
In order to conduct the primary research 90 people will be surveyed who use Smartphone and tables along with other technologies and are accustomed to use upcoming technologies out of which 80% of the respondents which is 72 people may reply to the survey. To avoid the deviation in response a sample size is used which is larger than usual yet it is a convenient number to conduct the survey. To achieve a desirable analysis, the survey will be enough to reach a conclusion. Around 3-5 people associated with the development of the cloud computing technologies will be interviewed to gain more insight for the research (Palinkas et al. 2015).
Every research procedure faces, in this case the survey and the sample sizes that has been chosen might not turn up for response or the expected response my not meet the requirement. Many times the researchers of such cutting edge technologies are not easily available for interviews (Palinkas et al. 2015).
The outcome that is expected from the research is firstly is a positive feedback from the survey appreciating the services that are provided by cloud computing technology, on the contrary there will be people who lack understanding and faith in the technology and only focus in the disadvantages it has. The advantages of the technology will be recognized by some of the people in the survey. Form the people who are researching on the future scope of cloud computing can give an insight about the reach of the technology and where else it can be applied and implemented (Emelyanov and Klygin 2016).
